Do I need to show proof of completion for a Hunter Safety course?

If you have or had a hunting license in the past, or if you were born before 1/1/1972, then no. If you have never completed hunter safety, then yes - you will need to do so, which can be completed here: https://www.hunter-ed.com/iowa/

Do I need to purchase an Iowa hunting license?

No - you can buy a Preserve License on-site. However, if you already have an Iowa Hunting License with Habitat Stamp, you do not need to buy a preserve license.

What do I need to bring?

• A shotgun (if absolutely necessary, we have extra available to borrow)
• At least 1 article of blaze orange clothing.
• Appropriate dress should be suitable for navigating waist-high CRP foliage.
• A steady aim!
• Mudd Advertising will provide shotgun shells.

How long will we hunt?

The morning consists of ~3-4 hours of hunting, then lunch, followed by a ~3 hour afternoon hunting session. It's a total of ~6 hours of hunting, depending on the interest of attendees.

How many birds will we shoot?

On average hunters shoot 10-15 birds each.
